4-Ingredient Homemade Ricotta
Ricotta is delicious and deserves the same love and attention we give to burrata and mozzarella. Its mild taste and texture make it the perfect addition to all of your pasta and toasts. I’m going to show you how to make it at home in a few simple steps!
4-Ingredient Homemade Ricotta
Makes: 2-3 cups
Active time: 10 minutes
Total time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 quart (4 cups) whole milk
1 pint (2 cups) heavy cream
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Steps:
Combine milk, heavy cream, vinegar and salt in a medium saucepan and heat until simmering, about 5 minutes. Cook until curds start to form, about 5 minutes more. Remove from heat and strain over a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth. Let drain for 10 minutes. Squeeze any excess liquid out of the ricotta.
Serve on toast, as a dip, in pasta, or anything you wish. Enjoy!
Cook’s notes: Ricotta is best served within 4 days of making.
