Passionfruit Mezcal Margarita
Makes: 1 drink
Active Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 large passion fruit, juice (seeds reserved for garnish)
1 large lime, juiced
2 ounces Mezcal or Tequila
3/4 ounces Cointreau (or any orange liqueur)
1/2 ounce simple syrup (or 1 tablespoon agave nectar)
Method:
In a cocktail shaker fit with a strainer add passionfruit, using a spoon to squeeze the juice out of the seeds, reserving the seeds for garnish.
Add lime juice, mezcal, cointreau, and simple syrup. Add ice, seal, and shake 20-30 seconds until very cold.
Strain into a chilled glass with fresh ice and garnish with reserved seeds. Enjoy!
Cook’s Note: to add an optional salt rim, before pouring the drink into the glass, rub a cut lime wedge around the rim of the glass. Add salt to a plate and gently press the rim of the glass into the salt to adhere the salt to the glass.
